DropBot Glass Chips with a Silicon Nitride dielectric layer offer a low-voltage, high-durability solution for two-plate digital microfluidics (DMF). With 84 addressable electrodes, each chip enables precise droplet movement, merging, splitting, and dispensing across a wide range of biochemical and liquid handling workflows.

The Silicon Nitride layer is deposited by PECVD to achieve a pinhole-free 800 nm thickness, providing robust insulation that resists dielectric breakdown during extended and elevated-temperature workflows. Operable at as low as 30 volts, this ceramic dielectric delivers reliable performance where sustained actuation and thermal resilience are critical, without compromising DropBot compatibility.

Each chip undergoes rigorous quality control to guarantee flawless performance, free from pinholes and hydrophilic defects. Optimized for DMF in air, it also supports oil-based and hybrid air-oil environments, allowing for flexible experimental setups.
